Overview

Nakupuna Solutions seeks aMalaria Program Technical Advisorto support U.S. Department of State global health policy and foreignaffairs objectives. This position will provide program and activity management, global technical engagement, technical support to countries, and oversight over scale up of innovations for malaria programs led by the U.S. Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI) under the America First Global Health Strategy (AFGHS).

The Advisor will engage with partner countries, international organizations, and stakeholders to ensure effective malaria program design, activity management, technical support, and alignment with U.S. global health priorities. The advisor will oversee the selection and rollout of malaria innovations, contribute to the design and selection of new program instruments, develop performance metrics and milestone frameworks, and ensure timely and accurate Congressional reporting.

  • Provide program and activity management for awards implementing malaria programs in countries
  • Strengthen global technical engagement and provide technical support to countries for malaria programs and introduction of malaria innovations.
  • Develop and oversee strategic frameworks and work plans for health programs supported by PMI, with a focus on integration with other health program areas
  • Contribute to the design and selection of new program instruments, performance metrics, and milestone frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with Congressional reporting requirements, preparing timely and accurate reports
  • Develop and disseminate technical guidance, tools, and training materials for integrated malaria programs and related award management
  • Monitor program performance, identify challenges, and recommend adaptive strategies to make progress against malaria
  • Document and share lessons learned to inform global and country-level policy and practice

Deliverables:

  • Award management plans and oversight reports
  • Technical guidance documents, tools, and training materials for malaria programs with a focus on integration and introduction of innovations
  • Inputs into the design and selection of new program instruments and performance metrics
  • Congressional reports and briefings prepared and submitted on schedule
  • Regular progress reports and a final summary report detailing achievements, challenges, and recommendations
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Advanced expertise in malaria product introduction and implementation of malaria prevention and treatment programs (vector control, diagnosis and treatment, chemoprevention, surveillance) in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Experience with award design, award management, and oversight of large-scale health global health portfolios, including multi-country or multi-partner initiatives
  • Analytic skills in developing and implementing malaria performance metrics and milestone-based approaches for health programs in developing countries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with U.S. government regulations and Congressional reporting processes and requirements.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with Ministries of health, donors, and implementing partners to advance progress against malaria in multiple countries across sub-Saharan Africa
  • Strong technical knowledge in malaria and related health areas (e.g., vector control, case management, community health, chemoprevention, health systems strengthening, and/or surveillance)
  • Experience with malaria donor coordination, global stakeholder engagement, and partnership development
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level technical guidance on malaria and related fields and capacity building to country teams
  • Verbal and written French skills desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree or higher in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Health Policy, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in global health implementation, biomedical innovations, award management, and technical support to countries with a focus on malaria prevention and control in sub-Saharan Africa, including oversight of large-scale portfolios and Congressional reporting.

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Clearance: Secret clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Travel: 25% international travel required

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $142,000 - $183,500. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies' total compensation package for employees.
