Schedule: Full Time | Monday - Friday | 8am to 4:30pm

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000/a year (exempt), based on experience, qualifications, and location.

As a Major Gift Officer, you are responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of major and legacy donors and prospects in support of Vivie's strategic priorities in aging services. Working closely with Foundation leadership and internal partners, you will cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic investments that support programs, people, and initiatives that matter most-while helping to grow and strengthen Vivie's major gifts program.

As a Major Gift Officer, you will:
  • Manage Major & Legacy Donor Portfolios - Oversee a portfolio of major and legacy gift prospects, developing individualized donor strategies that align donor interests with Vivie's mission and strategic priorities. Guide donors through the full giving cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Lead Donor Cultivation & Solicitation Efforts - Build authentic relationships through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and digital outreach. Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and tailored materials that clearly communicate impact and opportunity.
  • Partner to Advance Strategic Giving Opportunities - Collaborate with the Executive Director of Foundation, Foundation team, and program and clinical leaders to identify giving opportunities that support aging services, memory care initiatives, resident life enrichment, staff assistance programs, capital needs, and other strategic priorities.
  • Deliver Personalized Stewardship & Recognition - Provide thoughtful follow-up, impact reporting, and donor recognition to ensure donors feel informed, valued, and connected to their impact. Support the growth and engagement of recognition societies, such as Lifetime Giving and Legacy Societies, as appropriate.

This job also requires:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, leadership, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably in major and legacy gifts.
  • Proven success meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals.
  • Experience in aging services, senior care, healthcare philanthropy, or social services. Familiarity with the Twin Cities philanthropic community.
  • Experience using donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Raiser's Edge).
  • Ability to pass state mandated background checks.
  • Physical capability to perform all essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with team members, residents, and community partners.
