Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and investigate equipment failures and document findings

  • Calibrate, monitor, and maintain various plant safety and control systems
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with operations teams and report issues to Maintenance Supervisor.

Full Job Description
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician based in our Ranson, WV Factory. The position is scheduled for shift, from 5AM - 5PM or 5PM - 5AM on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Pay: $40/hour +

Your future team:

As a Maintenance Technician at ROCKWOOL, you'll perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment in your assigned area. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you're responsible for servicing all company equipment within budget while identifying opportunities to improve plant operations.

What you bring:
  • 2-year degree or relevant certification or work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and with automated equipment required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers(PLC)/Automation, specifically Siemens and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
  • Welding, hydraulic, pneumatic and conveying systems experience required.
  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge / experience.
  • Demonstrated or proven:
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills;
    • Acute attention to detail;
    • Written and verbal communication skills;
    • Problem-solving and trouble shooting skills;

What you will be doing:
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and investigation of mechanical and electrical equipment failures within assigned operational areas. Document all maintenance and repair activities to identify recurring issues and support the development of proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Complete equipment and industrial machinery repairs and parts replacement when required while maintaining a stock of tools, parts and supplies needed to manage day-to-day maintenance.
  • Provide electrical and instrumentation support to the functional area to ensure production can continue in a safe and effective manner.
  • Install and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Perform Electrical and PLC tasks including but not limited to the following: Calibrating, monitoring, repairing and maintaining transmitters, controllers, plant safety systems, power systems and sensors.
  • Adhere to established ROCKWOOL safety, quality and environmental standards to identify and mitigate quality or environmental risks and issues.
  • Work closely with operations teams and escalate issues to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
