Position Summary:This Maintenance Technician III is responsible for advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, utilities, and process equipment, providing hands-on technical guidance to junior technicians within a GMP biopharmaceutical facility. We are seeking a team player that is also comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. There will be future opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated strengths and interest.
Duties and Responsibilities:Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, utilities, and process equipment (motors, pumps, valves, compressed gas systems, HVAC components, RODI, pH neutralization, etc.).
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on moderately complex systems to identify root cause.
- Support utilities and plant systems to ensure uptime and operational continuity.
Systems & Reliability
- Support Building Automation System (BAS) and environmental monitoring response as needed.
- Respond to alarms and coordinate corrective actions; identify recurring failures or systemic issues.
Vendor & Coordination Support
- Coordinate vendor activities for maintenance and facilities services; support job walkdowns.
- Escort vendors into GMP areas and ensure compliance with site requirements.
GMP Operations Support
- Support shutdowns, HEPA certification, cleanroom cleaning, and utilities outages.
- Participate in investigations and operational impact assessments.
Documentation & Systems
- Utilize CMMS for work order execution, equipment history, and GDP-compliant documentation.
- Mentor Maintenance Technicians I and II on CMMS use and documentation practices.
- Contribute to SOP revisions and maintenance procedures.
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with GMP, GDP, and site safety requirements.
- Participate in on-call emergency rotation for facilities support.
Requirements:- Technical or trade school certification preferred; associate degree or mechanical/utilities certification a plus.
- 4-6 years of relevant hands-on maintenance experience.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a GMP environment.
- Demonstrated utilities and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and CMMS platforms.
- Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.
Environmental Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to work safely with mechanical, electrical, and process equipment.
- May work with chemicals, compressed gases, tools, and mechanical equipment as required by assigned activities.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or move up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance.
- Required to work in a variety of environments including cleanrooms, laboratories, mechanical spaces, plant utility areas, and general facility areas.
- Must be able to comply with gowning requirements and controlled-environment behavior as applicable.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined or technical spaces for extended periods.
- May be required to work at heights, use ladders, and navigate facility infrastructure.
- May be exposed to noise and temperature variations based on work location and assigned activities.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety procedures are required based on task and area.
- May require off-hours, weekend, emergency-response, or on-call support to meet operational needs.

Salary Range
$115,000-$130,000 USD
