Dessert Holdings is looking for a
Maintenance Technician II (Electrician) to join our team based in London, ON. This individual will have to work in a tightly knit team environment with the main focus of supporting all of the plant's departments, by using your electrical expertise along with your experience of production equipment and production systems. This position performs all duties assigned to maintenance personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide Electrical expertise and support TOC in electrical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
- Troubleshoot Electrical failure, identifying the root cause.
- Demonstrated ability and qualifications to diagnose a problem accurately and efficiently, take appropriate corrective measures for permanent fixing.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and work order tasks as requested by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, while reporting to the Lead Hand on shift
- Be observant and take initiative when a fault is detected.
- Liaise with other departments within facility, ensuring effective communication.
- Repair parts in shop if required and work with other trades groups to complete project assignments.
- Work effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety
- Complete maintenance reports and logs as required to support effective maintenance planning.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and in the maintenance shop.
- Adherence to all safety & quality policies and procedures
- Work in Maintenance team with Team Lead and other team member while reporting Maintenance Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ontario licensed electrician recognized by College of Trades.
- 3 to 5 years proven industrial experience troubleshooting pumps, automated systems, pneumatic & robotic equipment.
- Hold a valid Construction or Industrial Electrician license.
- Having a Millwright license would be an asset.
- Be willing to attain your Class "B" Operator Refrigeration License in-house.
- Previous experience as an electrician or maintenance technician in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceuticals, is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise effective judgment.
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Excellent attendance record and demonstrated reliability, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Be able to work overtime if required for vacation coverage, projects and audit preparation.
Schedule: - The job requires working 12-hour continental shifts, which rotates every two weeks.
- Sunday to Saturday - The shift runs from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm then the opposite for nights.
