Maintenance Supervisor
Wage: $35-$50
Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair, and readiness of our fleet of commercial vehicles. This position plays a critical role in ensuring fleet safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while supporting daily operational requirements.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate maintenance priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaises with the Dispatch to schedule all maintenance needs including CVIP, MV, damage repairs, etc.
- Ensures the appropriate company is allocated to fix any maintenance issues
- Ensures all buses are clean and available,
- Performs Pre-Trip inspections, as necessary.
- Performs general day to day light maintenance (DVIR) repairs required in yard outside of repairs requiring outside repair facility including.
- Ensures that safe work practices are maintained and that staff are aware of Work-Safe BC, WHMIS and other safety regulations
- Liaises with dispatch to ensure that a sufficient number of safe, roadworthy vehicles to meet service requirements; develops and adjusts daily maintenance and repair schedules to ensure system service requirements are maintained; dispatches roadside repair crews to bus breakdowns.
- Perform test drive on vehicles to diagnose issues.
What we are looking for:
- Red Seal Mechanic certification (preferred)
- Experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, including inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
- Previous supervisory experience in a fleet or maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance principles and best practices.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
- Valid Class 2 or 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement (preferred)
- Forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving vehicles and equipment.
- Fast-paced environment with changing priorities and operational deadlines.
- Occasional operation of company vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and tools to inspect and perform light maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.
- Strong visual attention to detail and ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to maintain awareness and coordination in an active yard and maintenance environment.
