Description

Location: Stewartville, MN
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Compensation: $75,542 - $100,722 annually

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily execution of maintenance activities within their assigned area while ensuring a safe, productive, and reliable operation. This role provides leadership to skilled trades employees, coordinates planned and unplanned maintenance activities and supports equipment reliability through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Safety is the top priority for this position. The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the direct link between maintenance planning and execution, providing daily direction, coaching, and accountability to maintenance personnel while ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a culture focused on safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and provide ongoing safety leadership.
  • Ensure team members receive appropriate training on new equipment, tools, and processes.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing training opportunities for skilled trades personnel.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide leadership, coaching, motivation, and accountability to maintenance team members.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Mentor employees and support professional development.
  • Manage personnel administration, documentation, and performance-related activities.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, including planned, scheduled, and non-routine work.
  • Partner with maintenance planners to schedule and prioritize work orders.
  • Assist with ordering maintenance materials and components.
  • Verify labor availability and support workforce scheduling.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately and efficiently within established KPIs.
  • Coordinate opening and closing of work orders within the CMMS system.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and corrective actions from completed work.
  • Review and follow up on preventive maintenance inspection findings.
  • Ensure proper documentation of work performed, including labor hours and maintenance feedback.
Reliability & Cost Management
  • Support equipment reliability and availability through effective PM and PdM programs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Monitor and manage overtime, attendance, productivity, and maintenance costs.
  • Review maintenance supply and material expenditures to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Supervise work quality, timeliness, and efficient use of maintenance resources.
  • Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets.
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications
Required
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety practices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintenance experience combined with leadership experience.
  • 5-8 years of successful leadership experience.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Proficiency with computers and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and planning abilities.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles and practices.
  • 10 years of electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing production environment.
  • Strong understanding of motor control circuits, PLCs, and control logic.
Preferred
  • Experience working with industrial robotics and automation systems.
