Full Job Description
The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling (PS) to join our Copper Cliff Nickel Refinery (CCNR) and Electrowinning's (EW) team in Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a Fixed-Term on-site position. The work schedule is Monday to Friday - dayshifts. This posting is for an existing position vacancy.

The role is responsible for conducting the Operational Readiness function for new assets at CCNR to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations through the asset's lifecycle while ensuring compliance with regulations, company policies, and collective agreements. The incumbent drives continuous improvement in crew performance through effective work management techniques and may provide supervisory relief when required. Additionally, the position involves identifying and addressing variances while aligning work with VPS and the Asset Management Framework.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Manage maintenance systems to ensure Zero Harm, meet safety, quality, and production targets, and comply with cost and capital expenditure goals. Conduct criticality assessments and design maintenance strategies based on failure modes and their criticality to the process.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement and project teams at various FEL and/or execution stages to conduct maintenance strategies, manage sparing and budgets within guidelines.
  • Lead and participate in commissioning and documentation activities as required
  • Integrate condition-based maintenance (CBM) techniques into the maintenance program, including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, where appropriate.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance work/strategies in alignment with the Asset Management Framework
  • Define critical spares for new assets and stock within warehouse systems.
  • Develop and maintain standardized planning templates and packages to improve efficiency and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Provide supervisory relief when required, lead crews in safety and professionalism, and ensure adherence to maintenance plans, policies, and collective agreements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of work orders, reports, and compliance with safety plans; maintain personnel qualifications and schedule training as needed
  • Coach and counsel employees on safety and performance standards, promote HomeSafe behaviors, and take corrective actions to address noncompliance.

About You

Education:
  • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation is preferred.
  • MLAI or MLTI is preferred
  • Vibration Analysis CATI is preferred
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141) is preferred


Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in maintenance supervision and/or planning.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, SAP, and Prometheus add-on.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Millwright trade is preferred.
  • Experience in a mining plant or heavy industry is an asset.


Skills:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
