Job Description

Position Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of skilled and unskilled labor engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in general building maintenance of an industrial plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Prioritizes and schedules repair, preventive and general maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in designated area to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Responds promptly to requests from production supervision for maintenance attention of equipment, and coordinates a schedule for repairs. Troubleshoots breakdowns and recommends corrective action.
  • Implements preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Ensures adequate spare parts are available for the equipment in the designated area of responsibility by requisitioning tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures, including lean activities and to improve their understanding of the equipment.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises 10 to 25 employees in the Maintenance Department, some of whom may be leads.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Experience & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience within the forgings industry, aerospace manufacturing, furnaces, heavy hydraulic equipment, material handling mobile equipment, cranes, baghouses, CNC machines, VARs, and cooling towers

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $96000 to $145000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
