Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and leads the daily installation, repair and maintenance of our facility, property and equipment. This position provides leadership over the maintenance technician workforce in repairing, maintaining, cleaning, troubleshooting, and installing all equipment in the facility.

DIRECT REPORTS - Maintenance Technicians

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Directs and leads a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training and development and performance feedback.
  • Collaborates with maintenance planner and production leaders to develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring timely and effective execution of task by Maintenance team.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures including: LOTO, QEW, Confined Space entry, Emergency Response, and general safety practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Performance Management: Responsible for developing and maintaining a high-level Team Member morale and dedication to serving customers. Responsible for coaching, mentoring, training, and development of Team Members. Give performance feedback as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Review, correct, and approve TM timecards through Jack Link's timekeeping tool to ensure Team Members are paid correctly for each pay-period.
  • Responsible for KPIs related to the maintenance department.
  • Identification and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects.
  • In partnership with Human Resources manage the staffing levels to appropriates support a 24/7 manufacturing facility, which includes participation in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires.
  • Monitoring all processes for optimal performance and reacting to deficiencies.
  • Troubleshooting abnormal conditional of all equipment in the facility.
  • Participation in the development of SOPs and other training and instructional documentation.
  • Ordering parts, tools, chemicals, and lubricants.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as necessary.


Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience:
  • 3+ years of equipment maintenance in manufacturing, including hydraulics, pneumatics, & electronics; leadership experience

Preferred:
  • Associates or Technical Degree in applicable field
  • Experience in meat processing and packaging plant.
  • Wastewater, water treatment, refrigeration, boiler, and/or engine/machine room experience
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS) and Scheduling Software.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and facility maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and/or electrical/mechanical
  • Ability to maintain and handle multiple functions/ tasks relating to the day-to-day operations for Jack Links
  • Proactive style that ensures the completion of projects despite obstacle
  • Actively seeks to utilize a "Collaborative Team Approach" in all situations

  • Ability to train


Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $76,477 - $105,156 (Annual) Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link's Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. While performing the duties of this job the Team Member will be required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. beard/hairnet, ear plugs, frock, boots, etc.), stand for extended periods of time, and use hands/arms to push, pull, reach and occasionally lift above head. The Team Member must occasionally lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds, and 50 pounds infrequently. Team Members are requested to visually inspect equipment and/or product.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant setting with wet/slippery floors, varying degrees of temperatures with an average temperature of 40 degrees in the production area. Team Members will be exposed to raw and/or cooked meat products and moving equipment and will be required to follow all Food Safety Quality requirements
