Full Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department and ensuring the reliability and performance of plant equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while supporting safety, quality, capital projects, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Maintenance Supervisor will also lead and develop maintenance employees, identify opportunities to reduce equipment downtime and repair costs, and partner closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and other facility teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of processing equipment, mobile equipment, buildings, grounds, security systems, and alarm systems.
  • Supervise, develop, and train maintenance employees to strengthen technical capabilities and support production needs.
  • Identify equipment reliability issues and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Analyze preventive and corrective maintenance data to identify recurring issues, high-cost equipment, and opportunities to improve equipment uptime.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and identify cost-saving opportunities for the facility.
  • Support the development and execution of capital projects, including estimating project costs, evaluating equipment options, coordinating labor, and partnering with Engineering.
  • Participate in capital planning and assist with prioritizing facility and equipment investments.
  • Evaluate and procure mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, yard tractors, utility vehicles, and other plant equipment.
  • Oversee Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) purchasing and inventory to ensure appropriate parts and supplies are available.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and partner with purchasing teams on equipment, parts, and service needs.
  • Support environmental compliance by maintaining required records, permits, and documentation.
  • Actively support facility safety and quality programs by enforcing policies, completing corrective actions, and ensuring maintenance work meets company standards.
  • Build strong working relationships between maintenance and production teams to ensure maintenance activities effectively support operational needs.


Required Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Manager OR 5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience within animal feed or a related manufacturing industry.
  • This role may require a valid driver license to drive a company vehicle


Preferred Experience:
  • Experience managing capital projects.
  • Experience managing plant or maintenance budgets.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and maintenance management systems.


Salary: $81,200 - $121,800

In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges
