Job Description:

Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel and providing technical direction to meet the needs of the operation. The Maintenance Supervisor will utilize a system to control workflow and delegation of work orders to ensure the proper scheduling and planning of maintenance throughout the facility. This position is responsible for fiscal and material resourcing and tracking of completed work. The Maintenance Supervisor will monitor staff work progress, development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program, and documentation of maintenance processes.

Essential Duties:
  • Supervises and coordinates maintenance personnel providing customer service to the operation while enforcing safety procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement both within the maintenance department and within the operation.
  • Directs maintenance resource allocation, prepares work schedules, prioritizes work requests and confirms the nature and extent of precedence, materials, equipment and labor required to complete the requests.
  • Meets with Production Supervisors to engage production work order needs to support and drive operational KPI's.
  • Engages in equipment troubleshooting, drives team to root cause analysis of breakdowns, and owns the execution of asset management efforts.
  • Observes and inspects jobs in progress; provides feedback and insight to maintenance staff ensuring proper use of materials and best practices.
  • Consults with and advises leadership on the feasibility of new equipment or improvements to the operation, feasibility of projects, and status or condition of equipment or breakdowns.
  • Supports and builds the maintenance pipeline, backlog, job plan documentation, preventative maintenance program and maintenance budget.
  • Updates critical assets regularly that are vital to operational efficiency and plans spares, bench stock to decrease downtown.
  • Source parts and materials and provide alternate costing options as available and establish a network of just in time parts inventory minimizing stock overhead costs.
  • Assist in the development and execution of employee performance metrics to be used in the Performance Management Process and to provide regular performance feedback to employees.
  • Works with production supervision to ensure first-line maintenance is being performed by operators.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert when the Plant leadership team engages in problem solving and brainstorming activities.
  • Review and verify employee time sheets and submit to payroll on specified days, ensuring that hours are assigned properly.
  • Participate in personnel decisions including hiring, transfers, training requirements, and any disciplinary actions following all internal guidelines.
  • Supports off hours calls by being available or calling in employees under their supervision.
  • Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.


Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma / GED required; post high school education (Associate or bachelor's degree preferred) or experience in trades such as mechanical or electrical fields of work within manufacturing maintenance.
  • 5+ years of direct maintenance supervisor experience
  • 1-3 years of Maintenance planning experience
  • Familiar with common OSHA safety programs
  • Lean manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and organizational skills are preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and technical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to read schematics both mechanical and electrical, ability to troubleshoot industrial maintenance equipment with the use tools
  • Basic Controls and Automation experience to include troubleshooting through HMI's and ability to read ladder logic through various systems of programmable logic controls
  • Ability to give direction, provide insight, manage complexity and drive performance
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Compensation Information:

$85k - $95k
