Position ScopePosition ScopeThe Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance and supervisory activities on behalf of NASI in support of operational reliability on projects. The role provides leadership to maintenance personnel, site supervision, and ensures regulatory compliance.

ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Be Doing- Review daily and weekly work plans and provide guidance and consultation to ensure efficient implementation of the priorities and plans.
- Support site supervision with resource assignments, workforce planning, and/or any client related matters on behalf of NASI.
- Support training and development of NASI personnel.
- Promote a safety-first culture with employees and contractors, focusing on inspections, observations and effective communications. Ensure safe work procedures and practices are adhered to.
- Support incident investigations and corrective action planning and implementation.
- Ensure employees and contractors meet client specific training and onboarding requirements.
- Ensure positive shop/field morale through effective communication, management of employee performance, reward/recognition and problem resolution.
- Through collaboration efforts, ensure efficient and cost-effective equipment repairs including the effective use of warranty claims.
- Support team supervision with employee performance or behavior concerns, serving as a point of escalation where supervision is assessing appropriate corrective actions for employees.
QualificationsWhat Makes You the ONE- Minimum of 10 years' experience leading teams in construction, energy or maintenance industries.
- Progressive leadership experience in maintenance, asset management, workforce management, and/or operations management.
- Journeyman Trade Certification is preferred (Heavy Duty Mechanic).
- Post secondary education with equivalency experience is considered an asset.
- High regards for employee health and safety.
- Ability to schedule labour resources, project plan, and deliver results under varying conditions.
- Strong communications skills (verbal/written/presentations).
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.

- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
- Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
- Criminal Record Check
Once dispatched the following processes will occur:
- Will receive a call from NASI to set up all required pre-employment testing
- An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
- After all results and paperwork are received by NASI, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
