Maintenance Shift Manager Overview:

The Maintenance Shift Manager will assist the Manager Aircraft Maintenance in the management, conduct, monitoring, and control of the Sun Country Airlines' maintenance production activities for in-house and vendor maintenance of aircraft, components, and powerplants.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the direction and supervision of the activities of all MSP maintenance personnel
  • Monitoring of the daily maintenance operation. Identification and analysis of maintenance problems and implementation of appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist in the hiring and determination of training and qualification requirements of line maintenance personnel and assuring that these requirements are satisfied
  • Scheduling of short-term, routine, and non-routine work requirements. Assuring that such work is accomplished in a timely, effective, and efficient manner
  • Assist in the preparation of line maintenance budget - including staffing, facility, and equipment
  • Monitoring the cost performance of in-house and vendor production maintenance activities, identification of deviations from budget, and establishment of corrective actions
  • Monitoring of flight schedule performance of Sun Country Airlines. Identification of problems involving the aircraft maintenance operation. Establishment and implementation of appropriate corrective actions
  • Direction and monitoring of maintenance production systems and activities to assure that all aspects of the operation are conducted in accordance with Sun Country Airlines' manuals and procedures and are in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Assist mechanics as required in the daily maintenance operation
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planning to schedule the nightly workload in MSP
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, Federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
  • Any other duties assigned by management

Required Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of Technical Operations experience
  • A&P License
  • Previous Lead experience
  • Previous experience working in TRAX and AIMS
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong Management/people skills
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Ability to multitask in high stress situations
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Must be able to obtain MSP SIDA Badge and customs seal
  • Must have valid driver's license and passport

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Line Maintenance supervisor experience
  • 737 FAM Course completion
  • A&P experience on Boeing 737NG

Compensation:

$115,000.00-135,000.00. This is the base compensation for this role.

This position is open in Minneapolis, MN.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Aircraft Maintenance Technicians & Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.

Work environment:

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets. This job will also operate in the maintenance hangar and ramp area. This role is routinely exposed to all weather elements.

Physical Demands:

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
