Full Job Description
Pay Range: $81,450 to $101,825. per year.

Provide supervision of refrigeration responsibilities for the Livingston Prepared Foods Plant. Position is also responsible for daily swing shift production, daily floor audits, collaborate with contractors, create work orders, report downtime and assist all Livingston Prepared Foods production and maintenance staff. This position is responsible for working closely with PSM Coordinator to remain compliant on all regulations as it relates to the refrigeration room. The position will also, plan and direct preventive maintenance and maintenance repair/overall actions on equipment located throughout the Livingston Prepared Foods Plant.

Direct and supervise shift maintenance for all refrigeration;

  • Prepare work schedules and mechanic duty assignments as required to support the total maintenance program and the requirements of Production and USDA personnel.
  • Perform frequent on-the-job inspections to ensure employee safe working habits, safe work areas, high quality workmanship and effectiveness of maintenance and repairs.
  • Evaluate, prioritize and schedule maintenance repair requests to ensure timely completion of all repair actions.
  • Accurately estimate materials and manpower costs for job orders and project requests.
  • Routinely inspect equipment for needed repairs and maintenance. Prepare maintenance repair requests.
  • Proved technical assistance to assigned personnel in the following areas: proper operation of equipment, proper use of maintenance manuals/schematics, efficient troubleshooting and proper maintenance/repair of equipment.


Provide the Maintenance Supervisor with a written list of materials and replacement parts as requires. Specifically:

  • Initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Initiate Material Request Cards for spare stock on Maintenance Inventory Control.
  • Recommend needed special tools as required.
  • Identify current/potential spares shortages or zero balances.


Conduct an aggressive, continual, and on-going safety program to include: inspection, instruction, prevention and documentation.

Provide the Maintenance Department Supervisor (on an ongoing basis) with a written list of materials and replacement parts needed. Specifically:

  • Initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Initiate Material Request Cards for spare stock in Maintenance Inventory Control.
  • Recommend needed special tools as required.
  • Provide information on current/potential spares shortages or zero balances.


Responsible for continuous employee training program (as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor), especially for newly assigned personnel. Increase the effectiveness of experienced personnel. Specifically:

  • Develop on-the-job training programs for new personnel.
  • Evaluate and document employee training records.
  • Develop employee training requirements for new equipment.
  • Develop employee skill level upgrading tests.


Conduct monthly environmental inspections and keep all required maintenance records current.

Monitor and keep all required maintenance records current. These records are to be used to conduct analysis and generate reports.

Conduct an aggressive, on going safety program to include: inspection, instruction, correction, prevention and documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience in poultry or related industrial areas
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience with emphasis on:
  • Expertise in all phases of boiler, refrigeration and waste water treatment operations
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills
  • Exhibit good leadership skills
  • Have working knowledge of state-of-the-art control devices
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
