What you will do- The Maintenance Planner is a key role within the Maintenance organization, driving consistent execution of the site's maintenance & reliability strategy. This is a high impact position, with an early focus on driving standardization for the department. This Maintenance Planner is central to the site's continuous improvement goals, ensuring preventative and predictive maintenance is executed flawlessly. The successful candidate is independent and drives continuous improvement in the plant's maintenance execution.
This role owns the administration and day-to-day integrity of the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including asset hierarchy structure, spares administration, work order generation, and PM/PdM task definition. The Maintenance Planner will work to tie the maintenance plan with PSM compliance requirements, acting as a liaison with the PSM and engineering team to incorporate Management of Change (MOC) actions into the CMMS. This role partners closely with the two Shift Supervisors and the Supervisor of Plant Utilities & Storeroom to ensure planning is coordinated with manpower and material for the site.
How will you do it- - Adopt and follow Aspen's core values -We do the right thing, We are problem solvers, We are allies and We drive forward.
- Own administration of the site's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), including asset hierarchy structure, PM/PdM task definitions, spares/inventory records, and the full work order lifecycle (creation, planning, scheduling, closeout).
- Partner with the Reliability Engineer to translate reliability program recommendations (FMEA/RCM outputs, criticality rankings, PM optimization) into executed CMMS updates - owning the input and execution of approved changes.
- Build and maintain a defensible asset hierarchy and equipment master data structure that supports accurate PM compliance tracking, spares cross-referencing, and reporting.
- Translate equipment O&M, data sheets, P&ID, facility drawings, existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), LOTO plans, etc. into PM plans in CMMS
- Plan and schedule maintenance work orders in coordination with the two Shift Supervisors, who retain ownership of manpower assignment and execution; ensure work orders are properly scoped, resourced, and sequenced ahead of execution.
- Strengthen the linkage between the CMMS and the site's Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC) programs, ensuring maintenance and asset changes on PSM-covered equipment are properly documented and traceable.
- Maintain CMMS documentation and asset records in a state of readiness to support internal and external ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 audits, consistent with the site's status as an automotive Tier 2 supplier.
- Coordinate operationally with maintenance vendors and contractors (scheduling, scope confirmation, on-site coordination), partnering with the site buyer, who owns commercial and contract terms.
- Partner with the Supervisor of Plant Utilities & Storeroom to maintain accurate spares inventory levels, reorder points, and storeroom organization within the CMMS.
- Generate recurring KPI and compliance reporting from the CMMS (PM compliance %, backlog, schedule adherence)
- Coordinate vendor requirements into preventative maintenance planning, including coordination and oversight of service visits, leading execution of equipment vendor work as directed by the Maintenance Manager
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
