Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Maintenance Operations Manager to join our Western Region Team in the Houston, TX area. The Maintenance Operations Manager will function as an overseer for multiple established maintenance sites and will be responsible for managing culture, safety, performance, and personnel across their assigned sites. They will do this by regularly visiting their sites to interface with our clients along with Turner's site management and field personnel, as well as having a defined set of priorities with a vision to implement them and an ability to communicate that vision. They will work closely with all departments to guide efforts toward achieving intended business results by building relationships and leveraging Turner's service capabilities to expand the business at their current sites as well as new ones.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Must have 10+ years of increasing responsibility managing industrial maintenance activities from a site level and a regional level
  • Strong communication skills to lay out vision and expectations for direct reports aand drive engagement with client personnel
  • Intimate ability to understand and know contracts that govern risk and responsibility
  • Ability to communicate effectively on performance indicators and address shortcomings as needed
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change
  • Ability to define requirements, estimate manpower resources, schedule delivery, budget and manage costs, motivate teams, resolve conflicts, negotiate external resources, manage contracts, assess and reduce risks, and adhere to standard methodology and quality processes
  • Ability to analyze and review accounting documents and related budgetary information to determine the impact on a project


Functional Requirements:

Define project goals in alignment with executive leadership and communicate a clear vision to teams; represent the organization in internal/external meetings and industry groups; drive continuous improvement of safety culture and KPI's, integrating lessons learned and industry best practices; stay current on trends, tools, and methodologies in affecting the industrial market; lead and mentor direct reports, guiding performance, integration, and knowledge; assist in team selection and provide input on performance evaluations; promote knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team; ensure accurate project planning and estimating, linking scope, costs, and schedules; manage change by reassessing scope, budget, and timeline based on evolving project conditions; direct financial oversight including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and variance analysis; ensure accounting processes, compliance, and documentation standards are followed; present financial reports and justify budget impacts to stakeholders; resolve issues related to safety, quality, and client expectations; manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring transparent communication and alignment; coordinate vendor engagement, procurement, and change management to support business goals; involve subject matter experts in key decisions and reviews; capture lessons learned and contribute to organizational knowledge bases for future success.

Physical Involvement:

About Turner Industries

Turner Construction is an American construction company with presence in 20 countries. It is a subsidiary of the German company Hochtief. It is the largest domestic contractor in the United States as of 2020, with a revenue of $14.41 billion in 2020. Turner Construction was founded in New York City in 1902 by Henry Chandlee Turner. Its first project was a $690 concrete vault in Brooklyn, followed by concrete staircases for the New York City Subway.
