Department: Maintenance

Location: Beachville, ON

Hourly Rate: $46.06

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems including motors, controls, scales, and other equipment
  • Test & monitor mechanical systems, equipment, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Accountable for all mechanical, fluidic, welding and plant equipment maintenance to ensure minimal downtime
  • Work with minimal supervision in a safe manner maintaining a clean and orderly shop
  • Respond to break-downs and /or provide communication for repairs
  • Openly share knowledge and train team mates on equipment functionality and history, procedures, and drawing mark ups.
  • Coach Operating personnel on equipment capability, limitations and preventative measures to improve equipment reliability
  • Follow and take initiative as directed in PM program including improving the program itself
  • Work with planner for planning the shutdown jobs and discussing scope of repair.
  • Repair, Overhaul, Fabricate, Assemble, and dismantle equipment using power tools, hand tools, machine tools and welding tools
  • Independently weld and fabricate to in order to repair machinery and improve production
  • Monitor equipment performance, document and evaluate potential problems for root cause solutions and improvements
  • Focus on continuous improvement of equipment performance to improve efficiency
  • Must communicate effectively with all plant personnel and the maintenance team.
  • Ensures the proper function of mechanical safety devices
  • Monitors work done for adherence to legislated requirements
  • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
  • Maintains appropriate service and repair records in SAP and CMMS system.
  • Analyze and respond safely and appropriately to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
  • Any other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency
  • Department of Labour certificate for a Licensed Industrial Mechanical Millwright (433A)
  • Minimum 5 years of on the job millwright maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
