Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The role of Maintenance Manager position is to provide leadership and technical expertise in the mechanical, reliability, and electrical maintenance department, as well as engineering, projects, and plant services. Key areas of accountability include the maintenance of the plant equipment from the quarry to loadout as well as some offsite equipment. Work closely with production, quarry, and quality teams to provide leadership, guidance, and direction for plant operations to ensure alignment with plant and company goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Manage all areas of maintenance, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures, training of staff, and implementation of maintenance system
  • Participate as an integral member of the plant leadership team to create a high-performance team
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise on maintenance related matters


  • Oversee the maintenance department to achieve key performance indicators; communicate with and coordinate planning and resources with primary internal customers
  • Align maintenance plans to achieve key performance indicators and/or market demand
  • Plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the plant
  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development to all employees in the maintenance department
  • Responsible for development, oversight, and effective management of department budgets


  • Analyze overall performance of the operation and communicate results with appropriate team members to drive continuous improvement. Ensure optimization and execution of all maintenance resources
  • Optimize overall equipment effectiveness at the lowest sustainable cost of maintenance
  • Perform statistical analysis, prepare reports, and maintain appropriate department records and files as required
  • Other duties, as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational and management of people, including demonstrated experience working in high functioning teams.
  • Demonstrated examples of metrics usage and planning processes to deliver results.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with knowledge of lean tools such as root cause failure analysis, preventive maintenance, visual management, and 5S.


  • Basic knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety requirements preferred.
  • Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft word, Excel and Maximo experience strongly desired.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in functional role


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Prolong standing or other stationary positions
  • Complete repetitive movements such as typing
  • Ascend/descend stairs and ladders


  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Lift/move/transport items up 50 pounds
  • Move or traverse about the facilities


  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
