Full Job Description
Our Dodson, LA lumber mill has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Superintendent. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position and provides excellent growth potential and opportunities for advancement.

Dodson Lumber is located on Hwy 167 approximately 10 miles south of Jonesboro, LA, and approximately 15 miles north of Winnfield, LA. Many of our Dodson employees reside in Jackson, Winn, and Lincoln Parishes. Lincoln Parish is home to Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University, North Louisiana is home to various state parks such as Lake Claiborne and Kisatchie National Forest with a variety of activities, like hiking, fishing, hunting, kayaking, and camping.

Our mill produces high-quality Southern Yellow Pine lumber used for residential construction throughout the Southern and Eastern USA. We have a reputation for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement. The current opportunity is on day shift, however the successful candidate must be willing to work other shifts and weekends when needed.

Key Functions:

This individual is responsible for the development and management of all maintenance activities, with the safety of associates being the highest priority. The superintendent is accountable for leading preventive & predictive maintenance/process reliability, managing improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and for department budget cost effectiveness. Responsible for the development and training of associates including coaching, mentoring and development. Participates and/or leads initiatives for capital projects and problem-solving activities. Assures purchasing functions follow established policies and procedures. This position plays a key role in supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliability.

The Maintenance Superintendent will also be responsible for leading team meetings & trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues, coordinating activities with production team to maximize productivity & minimize cost, reduce waste and taking measures to proactively address all concerns.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum 5 + years' experience in a leadership role, preferably in an industrial environment
  • A passion for safety and exceptional leadership capability in improving safety performance
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming
  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
  • Knowledge of business and financial concepts
  • Demonstrated success in managing capital projects
  • Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals
  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity and people development
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows-based programs and internet skills
The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Wood Products Industry maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP.
What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $106,917-$160,376 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10-15% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
