PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance functions within the Reading Plant. This leader is responsible for managing the team, driving overall equipment efficiency, equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, and continuous improvement activities that help the site reach operating goals and objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
Develop and implement maintenance procedures and strategies to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational efficiency
Ensure Preventive Maintenance and Calibration programs are well planned, executed, and documented.
Work cross-functionally to develop, deploy, and sustain lean manufacturing processes. This individual will be a key team member in the conversion to a truly lean manufacturing organization driving the implementation of Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving and other lean concepts to create a robust culture of continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency.
Budget Management (planning, monitoring and control of headcount, capital expenditures and other Maintenance expenses)
Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work
Solves complex problems utilizing standard problem-solving techniques keeping teams focused on making data driven decisions and conclusions.
Personnel responsibility (directly or indirectly) for assigned members of the technical team on site (hiring, evaluation, career development) including organizational responsibility (definition and evolution of organizational structure, delegation of responsibility/authority, intra-departmental/intra-company/partner cooperation).
Process/Methods/Tools Ownership (selection, definition, installation, supervision of proper use)
Technology, Innovation and IP Management (strategic planning and deployment in accordance with business requirements).
Responsible for supporting the Food Safety Management System programs: Lead and direct team members in helping to achieve food safety goals and program requirements; provide functional expertise; allocate resources; and actively communicate.
Perform timely technical investigations and provide practical manufacturing solutions, under appropriate regulatory guidelines. As required, assist or lead in the prompt implementation of Non-Conformance resolution, and Corrective and Preventive Action(s).
Responsible for providing plant input in manufacturing process development, to include but not limited to, process design requirements, risk analysis, traceability matrix, design history file, etc.
Apply experience with manufacturing process equipment to lead the selection and/or design of equipment for prototype and full-scale manufacturing. Evaluate and upgrade process equipment as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
Min.5 years leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
10+ years experience of maintenance/ production experience within a manufacturing environment
