Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

This position will manage, plan, organize, lead and direct maintenance and wastewater personnel and systems to optimize equipment effectiveness, ensure plant safety, and maintain internal and external plant facilities and equipment. This position will ensure that maintenance personnel execute procedures, processes, work instructions, etc. in the manner prescribed while operating in a team-based environment. Will also ensure that the security of the building is maintained and work directly with the team leadership as it pertains to those activities.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Must have knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems and diagrams.
  • Provide expectations, accountability, and direction to direct reports.
  • Execute the policy deployment process within the maintenance functions.
  • Manage the maintenance budget to control costs.
  • Plan, budget and execute capital projects.
  • Assess, train, and develop competencies within the maintenance organization.
  • Champion health and safety initiative within the maintenance functions.
  • Specify a maintenance plan for each equipment system. The plan should include predictive maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance tasks, inspection & monitoring activities, spare parts requirements, and organizational requirements.
  • Review and analyze the execution of the maintenance plans and performance metrics. The performance metrics includes MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance performance, tool and die repair scheduling and maintenance of tools, departmental budget, workforce utilization, etc.
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities (break/fix), and work with Operations and Engineering on improvement of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
  • Identify and procure materials for maintenance and tooling requirements.
  • Support an operating culture within area of responsibility that promotes involvement, communication, mutual trust and respect, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence.
  • Lead and participate in problem solving teams, TPM activities, and other kaizen events to improve operating performance.
  • Lead efforts to ensure building security, exterior grounds safety and building structure integrity. Assure electrical infrastructure meets compliance codes and is safe and robust for operator usage.
  • Provide technical support in parallel with Engineering on projects involving electrical and mechanical functionality.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering (Technical Degree).
  • Five years' experience as a supervisor or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years' experience in maintenance or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Associate or Technical Degree preferred. Special training and/or certifications in maintenance is a plus. (i.e., Journeyman status, PLC, electrical, etc.).
