Trinity Rail Maintenance Services is searching for a mechanical-minded leader to fill the open position of Maintenance Manager in our Shell Rock, Iowa manufacturing facility!
This individual will manage and direct maintenance functions including mechanical and electrical installations, service and repair to maximize productivity and utilization of equipment and assets. They will also be responsible for the installation of fixtures for production and work closely with corporate fixture design group to assure appropriate layout and design of fixtures in support of current manufacturing requirements.
What you'll do:
• Direct management of semi-monthly and/or hourly employees in support of services to support production requirement
• Plans, schedules, and implements preventive maintenance programs; schedules and prioritizes repair initiatives
• Recommends improvements to and replacement of maintenance equipment; writes specifications and/or estimates for equipment orders
• Ensures accurate, complete documentation of all service to equipment, repair orders, and maintenance purchases / expenses utilizing systems as appropriate
• Works with design team to manufacture and install fixtures to hold materials in place during assembly; estimates costs of tools and dies necessary for production
• Leading the Inspection, Testing, and Preventive Maintenance Program for all facility equipment
• Working with Planner(s) to coordinate and execute all work associated with compliance with the maintenance program: planning, scheduling, scaffold installation / removal, insulation removal / replacement, inspection contractor(s), inspection records, and disposition of recommendations
• Leading the Facilities Reliability Management System standards and procedures and is responsible for their implementation and continuous improvement
• Leading development and continuous improvement of specific equipment Reliability Control Plans
• Executing programs and policies for driving compliance and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, partnering with leadership to drive forward safety betterment for the plant
• Leading reliability improvements throughout the site
• Leading the development and execution of outage inspection activity
• Directing reports include Reliability and/or Maintenance Engineers/ Supervisors
Qualifications
What you'll need:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred or 5 - 7 years relevant experience
• Considerable knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment and plant operations
• Apply mathematical formulas and standard engineering data to develop tool configuration
• Work from written specifications, wiring diagrams and blueprints, and prepare preliminary sketches, layout and detail drawings
• Assess production schedules and equipment requirements and plan repair and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
• Participate as a member of a responsive, efficient manufacturing support team
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
