Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations across a three-shift production facility, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment, infrastructure, and maintenance systems. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership to maximize equipment uptime, improve asset performance, control costs, and support operational objectives.

The Maintenance Manager maintains a visible onsite presence during core business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and provides leadership support for off-shift operations as needed. This position oversees maintenance personnel, manages budgets and maintenance expenditures, and drives a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge, sound decision-making, and the ability to effectively lead teams in a dynamic environment while partnering with Operations and site leadership to achieve business goals.

What You'll Do

As the Maintenance Manager, you will:
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and sanitation personnel.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and direction for maintenance activities across all three shifts.
  • Oversee mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance functions.
  • Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Prioritize daily maintenance activities, work orders, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Manage departmental budgets, maintenance spending, and inventory controls.
  • Hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, work quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support equipment installations, commissioning activities, and capital improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments to support production objectives.
  • Partner with maintenance teams across MTNA locations to share best practices and technical expertise.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost performance through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Technical degree and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a high-volume production, food processing, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams within a multi-shift or 24/7 operation.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
  • Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and utilizing CMMS software.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop employees and enforce performance standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Flexibility to support operational needs outside of regular business hours when necessary.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical engagement, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting items over 50 pounds. Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, fumes, and vibration may occur. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required. Off-shift or weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
