Full Job Description
We're hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead that function and make it better. This is a management role, not a working supervisor job. You'll be running a multi-craft department of roughly twenty across four shifts through your supervisors and leads - setting priorities, owning the numbers, and building a team that performs.

The department has MaintainX in place and a capable crew. What it needs is someone who manages by measurement rather than by reaction: knows the downtime, holds the PM completion rate, works the backlog down, and can tell plant leadership exactly where the department stands and the direction it is moving.

You'll also be expected to take an honest look at the team you inherit - where the skill is, where the gaps are - and to bring in talent where you need it. You'll report to the Plant Manager and have real latitude to run the department the way it should be run.

What you'll own
  • The maintenance metrics that matter: unplanned downtime, PM completion rate, work order backlog and aging, mean time between failures, and maintenance cost per unit - measured, reported, and acted on
  • Leadership of maintenance supervisors and leads supporting bottle processing, fiber extrusion, FDA and non-FDA pelletizing, wastewater treatment, and plant utilities
  • Evaluating your team's capability, closing skill and coverage gaps, and recruiting stronger talent into the department
  • MaintainX as the system of record - asset data, PM schedules, work order discipline, and reporting that tells leadership what's actually happening
  • The maintenance budget, spare parts strategy, and contractor relationships, including deciding what work should come back in-house
  • Shutdown planning, major repairs, and equipment installation projects
  • Safety in your department: lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, contractor safety, and the daily habits behind them

What we're looking for
  • Five or more years managing a maintenance function in manufacturing, in a multi-shift or continuous operation.
  • A track record of owning maintenance metrics and reporting them up. If you can talk about what your downtime and PM completion numbers were and how you moved them, we want to talk to you
  • Experience evaluating a maintenance team, addressing performance and skill gaps, and hiring.
  • Budget ownership, and experience holding outside contractors accountable for cost, schedule, and quality
  • CMMS experience with responsibility for driving its use across a department; MaintainX a plus
  • Enough technical grounding to evaluate recommendations, challenge a repair estimate, and judge the skill of your people.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and the discipline to enforce them

Helpful, not required
  • Experience taking a maintenance organization from reactive to planned
  • Engineering degree or background, with the ability to lead capital projects and equipment installations
  • Trade background - electrician, millwright, industrial mechanic, or controls
  • Extrusion, plastics, recycling, or wastewater experience
  • PLC and HMI familiarity

What we offer
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-paid life insurance; short- and long-term disability
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • A stable, established manufacturer where the maintenance manager has a real seat at the table
