Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Manager, to join the team in Lima, OH (USA).

Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the facilities and machinery used to produce new and existing products run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment (may include software programming). In some plants may include people management and budgetary/cost reporting.

Key Tasks & Activities

Maintenance Activities
  • Maintains all plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Ensures that machines, molds, peripherals and utilities are able to work reliably at any time
  • Defines the Preventive Maintenance Plan for machines, molds, peripherals and utilities according to manufacturers' history and catalogs in agreement with the Plant Manager
  • Executes and enforces the Preventive Maintenance Plan
  • Ensures all maintenance checks are complete in a timely manner
  • Plans resources and materials to meet maintenance requirements and routine equipment installations as required
  • Ensures the management of the warehouse of technical parts, identifying the critical parts as well as the necessary physical inventories
  • Analyses breakdowns of equipment to implement continuous improvement in those areas
  • Ensures all maintenance data from initiation to completion is recorded
  • Ensures quality of work, procedures and standards are acceptable to company values, and makes sure costs are kept within budgetary control
  • Participates in actions for cost reduction
  • Plans, organizes, executes and coordinates continuous improvement assignments, making recommendations and decisions that have a significant impact on maintenance projects as well as the business of the company
  • Informs operation issues to the management team, which may be vital to the efficiency of the plant

Team Coordination
  • Coordinate the maintenance activities carried out by the maintenance team and / or service providers
  • Supervises and assists maintenance staff in diagnosing the nature specific problems involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment and in the provision of effective repairs
  • Ensures maintenance staff has a timely response to plant issues
  • Ensures records of maintenance operations performed by its team
  • Supports a continuous improvement culture through personal involvement and engaging and coaching the team
  • May apply the PMS on direct reports

Health & Safety (when applicable)
  • Reviews, develops, implements and monitors the company's Health and Safety management systems, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors and contractors, in line with current Health and Safety and associated legislation
  • Complies with the company's H&S, making sure staff is aware of its importance, and is following safety protocol
  • Conducts and carries out Health and Safety inspections and compliance audits and reports the findings

Project Management (when applicable)
  • Plans, directs, manages and delivers project regarding maintenance or equipment improvements
  • Defines time scales for project goals, risks and deliverables and manages accordingly
  • Liases with Logoplaste teams, customers, suppliers, and other third party contractors or representatives to communicate progress and time frames, and ensures that projects are delivered

Background & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5-7 years experience required
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing.
  • Technical and Industrial experience.
  • Knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, electronics and mechanics.
  • working knowledge of computer systems
