ABOUT THE JOB The Plant Maintenance Manager plans, directs, and monitors maintenance policies, procedures, systems, and techniques to ensure Golden State Foods and division objectives for efficiency, economy, quality, safety, reliability, and productivity are met or exceeded. This role partners closely with Operations to strengthen equipment reliability, minimize downtime, support preventive maintenance programs, and build the capability of maintenance team members and operators across the site.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Maintenance Leadership & Daily Operations - Plan and direct day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure effective use of resources, balanced work priorities, timely work order processing, rapid response to production breakdowns, and efficient completion of projects.
- Supervise maintenance staff, including work allocation, training and development, performance support, and motivation to ensure maintenance objectives are met.
- Partner with Operations and internal customers to support safe, reliable, and efficient production.
Equipment Reliability & Preventive Maintenance - Monitor maintenance of production machinery, related equipment, and spare parts inventory to meet maintenance standards, minimize downtime, and support production schedule requirements.
- Direct preventive maintenance activities and equipment rebuilds to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Evaluate maintenance issues, anomalies, or recurring equipment concerns and help identify appropriate corrective actions.
Systems, Controls & Continuous Improvement - Design or direct the design of control systems that enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement.
- Apply knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, pneumatic, boiler, PLC, and related systems to support plant reliability.
- Support project management, cost containment, waste reduction, GMP compliance, and safety standards for employees, facilities, and equipment.
Communication & Team Collaboration - Communicate and coordinate effectively with employees, maintenance team members, operations partners, and internal customers.
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and written information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education and experience.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant maintenance experience with progressive supervisory experience.
- Experience managing maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GMP, maintenance management, project management, and relevant policies and regulations.
- Working knowledge of PC word processing and spreadsheet software.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements - On-site role in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel, reach, twist, and work around production equipment as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects over 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel via airplane and drive an automobile when required.
