Danfoss is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at our Ames manufacturing facility. In this critical role, you will be the driving force ensuring our equipment and systems operate at peak performance. You will lead a dedicated team and implement robust maintenance strategies to maximize production uptime, enhance safety, and drive continuous improvement. What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspire and Develop Your Team: Lead, coach, and mentor a skilled maintenance team. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
  • Drive a World-Class Reliability Program: Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs aimed at eliminating downtime and maximizing equipment lifespan. Partner cross-functionally to prioritize work and limit production disruption.
  • Champion Proactive Maintenance: Provides support to all equipment, utility, and facility troubleshooting. Transition the team from a reactive to a proactive mindset by leveraging root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability best practices. Manage budgets, labor, inventory, contractors and vendors.
  • Master of Planning and Execution: Manage the maintenance workflow, from work order creation and prioritization to tracking and documentation, ensuring seamless coordination with production schedules. Respond to breakdowns, urgent needs, and after-hours issues as required.
  • Steer with Data: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including downtime, PM compliance, and costs and reliability trends, to identify trends and drive strategic improvements.
  • Ensure Unwavering Compliance: Guarantee that all maintenance activities adhere to the highest standards of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance, including OSHA, LOTO, and machine guarding.
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Play a key role in capital projects, supporting new equipment installations, upgrades, and facility modifications from concept to completion.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Deep technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • A strong knowledge of industrial safety standards (OSHA, LOTO).
  • Experience using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or operations-related field.
  • Credentials such as CMRP, OSHA 30, Six Sigma, or Lean certification.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a 24/7, high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, automation, or advanced process controls.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, contractors, and large-scale projects.
