We are currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations at our Bell, California facility. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our plant equipment, and facilities while leading a multi-shift maintenance team.

As Maintenance Manager, you will report to the Plant Manager and can make a meaningful impact on our operation by driving preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve problems, improve processes, and ensure our equipment and facilities are operating at their highest level.

About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day maintenance operations across a three-shift manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities remain safe, reliable, and operational
  • Plan, prioritize, and delegate maintenance activities, repairs, and projects based on team capabilities, operational priorities, and business needs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Ensure preventive maintenance activities are complete on schedule and establish plans to address missed or overdue maintenance
  • Coordinate internal and external maintenance resources to maximize planned downtime and minimize disruption to production.
  • Respond effectively to equipment failures and breakdowns, working closely with plant operations to restore equipment safely and efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, productivity, and product quality while meeting established KPIs
  • Ensure buildings, equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained to appropriate operation, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Lead the evaluation, specification, installation, and commissioning of new machinery, equipment, and plant systems in partnership with appropriate internal teams and external suppliers
  • Manage the removal and disposal of obsolete machinery and equipment
  • Manage contractors and outside service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and legal requirements
  • Analyze maintenance trends, equipment performance downtime, and other key metrics to identify root causes and opportunities for improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives with the maintenance function
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Partner with plant leadership and other departments to identify and address workplace hazards and maintenance-related risks
  • Ensure required inspections, documentation, training, and compliance activities are completed accurately and on time
  • Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring resources are used effectively and responsibly
  • Monitor maintenance expenses, outside services, parts, supplies, and equipment expenditures
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while improving equipment reliability and operational performance
  • Manage maintenance-related P&L responsibilities and provide appropriate reporting and recommendations to plant leadership
  • Evaluate capital and equipment needs and assist with developing business cases and recommendations for major projects and improvements

About You:

To be a good fit for this role, you should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance Management, or a related fieldis highly preferred
  • 7-10 years of maintenance management or related manufacturing leadership experience preferred
  • Significant experience managing maintenance operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery, electrical/mechanical systems, and facility maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills
  • Has a proactive approach to identifying problems and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multi-shift maintenance teams
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, equipment installations, and capital projects
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and P&L responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements and maintenance-related compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skill
