Overview

The Maintenance Instrumentation Technician is akey member of an integrated maintenance team, working collaboratively withplant and field operations, supervisors, coordinators, engineers, andmaintenance staff. In this role, you will perform diagnostic, troubleshooting,repair, and maintenance activities on instrumentation and control equipment atboth plant and field facilities.

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, youwill help maximize operational reliability and cost efficiency whileidentifying opportunities to enhance asset performance and create value.

This position requires the successful candidateto reside in the Hanlan Robb area. The staffing center is in Edson, and companytransportation is provided.

The Role
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
  • Assess work activities for safety risks and ensure compliance with all applicable safety requirements.
  • Adhere to and promote safe work policies, industry standards, codes of practice, and operating procedures.
  • Contribute to improving equipment reliability, operational performance, and asset integrity.
  • Support maintenance activities at facilities throughout the Hanlan Robb area, including third-party operated sites.
  • Participate in all aspects of the maintenance process to ensure the safe and efficient processing of natural gas.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

The Person
  • Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician Certificate with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is required.
  • Extensive experience in an instrumentation maintenance role, preferably within sour gas processing facilities.
  • Proven experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV control systems is preferred.
  • Experience with process analyzers, including H₂S analyzers, gas chromatographs (GC), and moisture analyzers (ADA), is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting maintenance and operational data.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Dual trade certification in Instrumentation and Electrical is considered a strong asset.
