Position Title: Plant Engineer
Take ownership of the engineering function at a growing, family-owned food manufacturing operation where your hands-on expertise will have a visible impact every day. As the Plant Engineer, you'll work across mechanical and electrical systems, natural-gas boilers, PLU/HMI/VFD controls, production equipment and capital projects while partnering closely with operators and maintenance to keep a 24/7 facility running safely and efficiently. This is a unique succession opportunity to learn directly from a highly experienced consultant engineer over the next 2-4 years before progressively taking ownership of the plant engineering program. The ideal candidate is a hands-on plant engineer or experienced maintenance professional with 5+ years of industrial experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving equipment performance and taking ownership of projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment!
Salary: $85,000-$115,000/ Year DOE
Responsibilities: - Conduct daily plant walkthroughs to proactively identify issues with pumps, motors, blowers, bearings and other critical equipment
- Oversee natural-gas boiler operations and support reliable steam generation across the facility
- Troubleshoot and optimize PLU, HMI, VFDs, valves and related control systems
- Lead mechanical and electrical improvements, equipment replacements and plant engineering projects
- Partner with operators to optimize production rates, speeds, moisture and product density
- Coordinate with third-party vendors on larger capital projects, including blending and bag-line expansion initiatives
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance and support occasional planned off-shift work and after-hours troubleshooting
Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on plant engineering, industrial maintenance or closely related manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities with practical plant-floor experience
- Working knowledge of boiler operations, industrial equipment and manufacturing systems
- Experience with HMI, PLU, VFD and control systems, including valves and drives
- Proven ability to own projects, solve complex plant problems and deliver measurable improvements
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, 24/7 manufacturing environment with occasional off-shift support
- Stable employment history with a track record of long-term commitment; food, powder processing, welding, fabrication or CMMS experience is a plus
