Position Location: This role supports our Buffalo Grove, IL Factory location which serves customers throughout the greater Chicago, IL area.
Systems Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment newly installed in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. Our Systems Specialists are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will: - Plan and execute assigned maintenance or repair projects, which involves a range of qualifications or personal resources.
- Analyze technical problems on site and plan resources and budgets needed to solve the issue.
- Set up maintenance projects, propose resources, assign targets and work orders, and monitor progress of repair measures.
- Act as first point of contact for resolving more complex issues.
- Oversee ramp up, set up and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations.
- Plan and complete installation projects on site, ensure proper documentation and cooperation with involved operations.
- Support maintenance of technical documentations of processes and equipment.
- Advise Technicians in maintenance and repair.
- Have a Safety Mindset: A strong commitment to safety principles and practices (e.g., LOTO, confined space, electrical safety).
You will make an impact with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- Industrial Maintenance Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in a high-volume production setting is highly desirable.
- Troubleshooting Expertise: Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on industrial machinery and systems.
- Preventive/Predictive Maintenance: Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
- CMMS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management, asset tracking, and data analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or specific PLC/automation vendor certifications.

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $141,494 annually of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
