Your Impact

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will help improve equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability in Axon's automated manufacturing environment. You will own preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for automated production systems, helping ensure safe, stable, and cost-effective operations. This role gives you the opportunity to work closely with Manufacturing, Controls, and Maintenance teams to reduce downtime, extend asset life, and support Axon's continued production scaling.

  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Improve reliability of automated manufacturing equipment, including robots, PLC-controlled machines, conveyors, vision systems, and material handling equipment.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Lead root cause analysis for recurring failures, downtime events, and chronic equipment issues, and implement corrective actions to reduce repeat failures and improve MTBF.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Design, optimize, and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs aligned to equipment criticality and production needs.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Analyze maintenance data, downtime trends, MTTR, MTBF, maintenance cost, and equipment availability to refine maintenance intervals and improve task effectiveness.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Use condition-based maintenance techniques where appropriate, including vibration, thermal, runtime-based, and other predictive methods.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Create and maintain maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, equipment documentation, and standardized practices across similar equipment and production lines.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Partner with Controls Engineers on PLC diagnostics, automation troubleshooting, system upgrades, and technical issue resolution.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Support Maintenance Technicians through troubleshooting assistance, technical guidance, and training.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to support new equipment launches, process changes, production ramp-ups, and reliability-focused continuous improvement.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Support spare parts strategy, critical spares identification, inventory optimization, capital equipment evaluations, and lifecycle cost considerations.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Provide on-floor engineering support during critical downtime events and participate in daily production, maintenance, and reliability meetings.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Support off-shift or weekend activities during launches, major repairs, or critical production issues as needed.
What You Bring
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">3-6 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, automation engineering, or a related manufacturing engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Strong understanding of automated manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, mechanical components, equipment reliability, and failure analysis.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience with PLC-based automation systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and partnering with controls teams on issue resolution.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and improving equipment reliability, availability, MTBF, MTTR, and downtime performance.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Familiarity with CMMS systems, maintenance data analysis, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Strong data-driven problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, production-driven environments.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to partner with Manufacturing, Controls, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Lean Manufacturing, Reliability Engineering, high-volume manufacturing, or high-mix automated production experience preferred.
  • p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Regular presence on the manufacturing floor is required, including hands-on troubleshooting support; occasional off-shift or weekend work may be required during critical events.
