Summary:

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Machine Reliability to improve the reliability, maintainability, and long-term performance of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on identifying equipment reliability issues before failures occur, analyzing root causes, and developing engineering solutions that improve machine uptime and lifecycle performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and improve the reliability of manufacturing equipment through engineering analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate equipment failures, recurring issues, and machine performance trends to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with maintenance mechanics, electrical engineers, controls engineers, and production teams to diagnose machine issues and implement permanent solutions.
  • Interpret machine symptoms, alarms, and operating conditions to predict potential failures before they impact production.
  • Evaluate components that experience premature wear or failure and recommend more robust designs, alternative components, or optimized replacement intervals.
  • Develop engineering drawings, mechanical modifications, and documentation to support equipment improvements and reliability projects.
  • Create and maintain equipment documentation, including mechanical drawings, bills of materials, maintenance procedures, and reliability standards.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies by improving equipment lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with equipment OEMs and suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement upgrades.
  • Participate in capital improvement and machine modification projects focused on increasing equipment availability and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Ensure all engineering changes comply with plant safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Controls, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent or 8 years minimum combined post-high school education and experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years technical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience machine design, mechanical power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearing, shafts, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex industrial machinery using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to read and create mechanical drawings (2D and 3D CAD experience preferred).
