Full Job Description
Fleming and Baron, an ASSA ABLOY company, is adding a Maintenance & Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to the team. This position will be on-site at our manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, Ontario.

What would you do as our Maintenance & EHS Manager?

In this role, you will oversee all maintenance and EHS activities, ensuring equipment reliability, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. Through hands-on leadership and collaboration across the organization, you will promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You would also:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective execution of maintenance activities
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Oversee maintenance planning, facility repairs, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractors, and vendor relationships
  • Analyze equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve operational effectiveness
  • Lead Environmental, Health & Safety programs to ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIB, environmental regulations, and corporate standards
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to reduce workplace risk
  • Oversee safety audits, risk assessments, regulatory inspections, and compliance activities
  • Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and support employee safety engagement initiatives
  • Manage ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements, audits, and environmental compliance activities
  • Monitor maintenance and EHS performance metrics, identify trends, and present recommendations for improvement
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Maintain a visible presence on the plant floor, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and programs that strengthen maintenance effectiveness and workplace safety
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned


The Skills and Experience You Need:
  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in Maintenance, EHS, or a combination of both within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems and reliability programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance teams, capital projects, and maintenance budgets
  • Experience with ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience conducting audits and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Specialized knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Industrial Regulations, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Certified JHSC Member, CRSP, CHSC, or related certification considered an asset
  • Certified First Aider is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to influence, engage, and gain buy-in at all levels of the organization
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing/industrial environment; some dust and noise
  • Ability to be mobile throughout the 155,000 square foot facility
  • Combination of plant floor presence and office/computer work
  • High degree of computer focus for long durations
  • Up to 10% travel may be required

Compensation $95,000 - $115,000 depending on experience
