About this opportunity:As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a key leadership role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the region. You will lead maintenance activities within your assigned area, working closely with maintenance trades, contractors, Planning, Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure work is executed safely, effectively, and in alignment with operational and License to Operate requirements.
You will provide leadership, coaching, and direction to maintenance teams and contractors while helping drive strong maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement. This role also provides an opportunity to influence how maintenance work is planned and executed, including coordinating Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) activities and identifying opportunities to improve overall operational performance.
Work Environment:- This is a full-time employee position based in Rainbow Lake, AB working 14 days on 14 days off days/nights shift rotation.
- The successful candidate must reside in Rainbow Lake while on shift.
- Please note, this is not a camp role and not a fly-in/fly-out position.
- While on rotation in Rainbow Lake, you will stay in company-provided housing. Please note that meals are not included and will be your responsibility.
- The successful candidate will need to commute to and from the community for each rotation or reside in Rainbow Lake.
What you'll do:- Act as the key link between Maintenance Planning and Maintenance Execution to support Operations and ensure safe, efficient execution of maintenance activities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to maintenance trades, full-time equivalent contractors, and third-party contractors.
- Steward the Cenovus safety culture and ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, safe work practices, and operational integrity requirements through field engagement, worksite observations, and on-the-job coaching and training.
- Provide oversight of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and defect elimination activities to identify and address recurring equipment and maintenance issues.
- Support vendor contract development, onboarding, and ongoing performance, including oversight and technical approval of vendor invoices.
- Provide oversight of asset health, with a focus on large rotating equipment and condition-monitoring activities such as oil sampling and analysis, valve recession, and vibration monitoring.
- Support the Planning for Safety process to ensure maintenance activities are appropriately planned and executed in accordance with safety requirements.
- Support projects and construction activities through the design and commissioning of new facilities, ensuring maintenance and operational requirements are effectively incorporated.
Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Interprovincial Red Seal and/or provincially recognized Journeyperson certificate in a relevant trade.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in oil and gas and/or petrochemical production facilities, with a focus on maintenance execution, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Dual-ticket certification is considered an asset.
- Business or technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) training, such as Reliability Center Inc. or equivalent, is considered an asset.
- Experience with project management and supporting projects through execution and commissioning.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
