Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe IMS and CICS Developer to develop, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, IMS/DB, IMS/DC, CICS, JCL, and IBM z/OS. This role involves developing high-performance batch and online applications, supporting production systems, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mission-critical mainframe environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL.
• Develop and support online transaction processing applications using CICS.
• Design, maintain, and optimize IMS/DB databases and IMS/DC transaction processing applications.
• Develop, modify, and maintain JCL for batch processing and scheduled jobs.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing fixes.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability of mainframe systems.
• Support batch processing, online transactions, and production deployments.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and infrastructure teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and operational procedures.
• Support application maintenance, enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in COBOL programming.
• Strong experience with IBM z/OS operating system.
• Hands-on experience with IMS/DB and IMS/DC.
• Strong knowledge of CICS transaction processing and programming interfaces.
• Experience developing and maintaining JCL for batch processing.
• Understanding of mainframe system administration concepts, including dataset management and security.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise mainframe applications and production environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with source code management and DevOps practices for mainframe environments.
• Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
