Job Summary
The Mainframe Developer with Java will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, developing, enhancing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications across IBM Mainframe and Java platforms. The role requires strong expertise in Mainframe technologies, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and DB2, along with experience supporting production environments, resolving application issues, and delivering high-quality software solutions throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Mainframe applications.
• Develop and enhance applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
• Develop and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Create and maintain batch jobs, procedures, and utility programs.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and application defects.
• Perform application enhancements and provide ongoing production support.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, developers, and stakeholders throughout all phases of the SDLC.
• Support application deployments and post-production activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical design documentation and application support documentation.
• Participate in Agile development activities and release processes.
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe development.
• Strong experience with Java application development.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Experience developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience providing production support and resolving application issues.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and release management processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
