Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with experience in MText (MetaText) to design, develop, and maintain document generation solutions on mainframe systems. The role involves working with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and MText for batch and online processing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain MText (MetaText) templates for document generation (letters, statements, notices).
Work on mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into MText layouts and logic.
Debug and resolve production issues related to document formatting and generation.
Perform unit testing and support system integration testing (SIT) and UAT.
Optimize batch processing jobs for efficiency.
Collaborate with business analysts and QA teams.
Required Skills
Strong experience in MText / MetaText document composition tool
Hands-on with:
COBOL
JCL
DB2
CICS (optional but preferred)
Good understanding of:
Mainframe file structures (VSAM, flat files)
Batch processing and scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M)
Debugging and problem-solving skills on mainframe
Good to Have
Experience with document composition tools (e.g., SmartCOMM, Exstream, etc.)
Knowledge of banking/insurance domain
Exposure to Agile methodologies
Experience Required
Typically 3 to 8 years in Mainframe development
At least 1 to 2 years hands-on MText experience
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT or related field

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 61087 to 104364
