Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled Mainframe and AS400 Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications running on mainframe and IBM AS400/iSeries platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CL, RPG, and related legacy technologies, along with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and support business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on mainframe and AS400 (preferred) environments.
- Write and support programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CL, RPG, and related tools.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform debugging, testing, and production support for existing systems.
- Work with batch jobs, file processing, and data integration processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and infrastructure teams.
- Support system upgrades, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
- Document technical designs, code changes, and support procedures.
Required Skills:- Strong hands-on experience with mainframe technologies.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
- Knowledge of batch processing, job scheduling, and file transfer processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in production support and development environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:- Bachelors in Computer Science or other related field
- 5 years of experience
Preferred Skills:- Experience with IBM AS400/iSeries technologies preferred.
