In this position...

You will be a key member of the Electronics Platform Architecture organization, in the Architecture Integration team. The Architecture Integration team owns definition of the complete vehicle electrical architecture. We work with various teams including the Tech Platform Program (TPP), program system, software teams, various ECU delivery teams and the vehicle architecture teams to fully define the architectural content of the platform and for each program. Key work areas for the team include developing a comprehensive architectural specification for upcoming (yet to launch) vehicle programs and work with various functional teams to validate and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Your team is responsible defining the evolution of Ford's electrical architectures.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Create, maintain, and release sophisticated electrical architecture models using SysML within the MagicDraw environment for current and future architectures.
  • Ensuring model integrity through collaborative teamwork, defining system architectures (components, interfaces, relationships, stereotypes).
  • Raise open issues and drive resolution of architecture issues based on reviews with the appropriate delivery teams and experts.
  • Maintain the model and its open issues ensuring its releases track as changes are approved though the various review forums.
  • Support software/systems/vehicle engineering teams as they progress through product development milestones by releasing sematic versioned model releases defining superset content with application specific views created from architecture and product feature definitions.
  • Proactive measures to provide information integrity looking up and down the system V, creating consistency between architecture line and product line definitions, engineering design artifacts (logical and physical schematics, power distribution, network topology, etc.) and architecture models
  • Mentor engineers on topics related to MagicDraw and electrical platform information integrity.


Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related disciplines
  • 2+ years of experience with systems, hardware or software architecture
  • 2+ years of experience, and understanding of SysML including meta-models, for designing system architectures.
  • 2+ years of experience and deep knowledge of MagicDraw and the tool's interface and development environment or similar UML/SysML modeling environment
  • Strong analytical skills to break down problems and design effective solutions within the model.
  • Attention to Detail - meticulous focus on model consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with other engineers and organizations.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and deliver the complex model structure on time with quality.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, effectively explaining complex models to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Master's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering
  • Experience with computer programming, embedded operating systems and computing hardware
  • Demonstrated experience with complex electrical architectures, modeling, and simulation.
  • Demonstrated experience with a high-level programming language such as Python or Java
  • Demonstrated experience with database software such as SQL, PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, or OSLC

This position is a salary grade range of 5 to 8 and ranges from $65,100 - $166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
