Responsibilities

The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA provides precision-machined components that power Keysight's industry-leading electronic measurement equipment.

In this full-time role, you will execute machining processes on day shift utilizing Swiss lathes, advanced metrology, and auxiliary equipment to guarantee components meet Keysight's exacting standards. This position will require a knack for precision, detail, and handling of extremely small turned parts.

Keysight seeks a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and values teamwork. The start time for this position is between 5am and 8am.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines CNC Swiss style lathe independently during day shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous production
  • Perform complete machine setups, including tooling selection, offsets, program verification, and first-article approval
  • Make in-process adjustments to tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain part quality and dimensional control
  • Take full ownership of product quality on night shift, including inspection, documentation, and adherence to specifications and control plans
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct machining issues such as tool wear, machine alarms, surface finish problems, and dimensional variation
  • Follow standard work, drawings, and setup sheets while applying expert judgment to optimize process stability and cycle time
  • Perform routine machine checks and preventive actions to minimize downtime and ensure equipment readiness
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records per operational requirements
  • Escalating quality, safety, or equipment concerns as needed to prevent defects from reaching the next operation
  • Support continuous improvement by proactively identifying process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and setup efficiencies
  • Maintain a cooperative and professional attitude to support a productive team environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool machine shop area
  • Grind, sharpen, and recondition carbide and HSS cutting tools per specification

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience with one or more of the following:

    • CNC Swiss/Lathe/Mill
    • Strong working knowledge of FANUC CNC controls
    • Proven experience machining small, high-precision turned parts
    • Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and quality issues
    • Carbide Tool Grinding and/or Resharpening
    • Advanced Metrology
    • CNC Programming
    • Interpreting Specifications, Including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)


Education/Experience

May require some specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range:

USD $67,030.00 - USD $111,720.00 Year
