Rosboro is seeking a Full-Time Dayshift Machinist for our manufacturing facility in Springfield, OR. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of machining and metal fabrication experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
The Machinist will be responsible for fabricating replacement parts and components to support multiple production facilities using manual lathes, manual milling machines, and stick and wire-feed welding equipment. This position will also be responsible for rebuilding pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, repairing and modifying existing equipment components, interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently to minimize production downtime.
Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Proficient in operating manual lathes and manual milling machines to fabricate precision parts.
- Experience performing Stick and MIG welding for equipment repairs and part fabrication.
- Ability to rebuild, repair, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, metal properties, tolerances, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Ability to fabricate replacement parts from samples, sketches, or verbal instructions when drawings are unavailable.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, conveyors, pumps, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and other manufacturing components.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify practical repair solutions that minimize equipment downtime.
- Ability to prioritize multiple work orders while supporting the needs of several production facilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with maintenance and production teams.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces as needed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including supervisor-directed adjustments to shift start and end times, as needed to support production schedules and the operational needs of multiple manufacturing facilities.
Compensation and Benefits- $44.78 per hour.
