Machining and Production Engineering Supervisor

We are looking for a Machining Supervisor / Production Engineering Supervisor to join our Dyna-Flo team in Edmonton, AB!

The Machine/Production Engineering Supervisor oversees day-to-day machine shop operations and employees engaged in machining, tool and die, prototype, and related manufacturing activities. Coordinate staffing, workflow, equipment utilization, safety, quality, and production priorities to achieve established operating objectives under general management direction.

Location:Canada-Edmonton (Dyna-Flo) - Onsite

Salary:$35 - $43 Hourly

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Supervise daily machine shop activities; assign work, coordinate staffing and machine utilization, monitor production schedules, and adjust priorities to meet delivery, quality, and productivity requirements. (30%)

  • Monitor machining operations, work methods, tooling, tolerances, equipment condition, and process execution; resolve routine operating issues and escalate significant technical, quality, equipment, or production concerns. (25%)

  • Lead assigned employees through work direction, coaching, training, performance feedback, attendance management, and reinforcement of safety, quality, security, regulatory, and company requirements. (15%)

  • Maintain production, performance, labor, quality, and operating records; communicate shop status, constraints, performance trends, and resource needs to management and partner functions. (15%)

  • Support improvements to shop procedures, work methods, tooling, equipment, layout, and manufacturing practices; provide input regarding staffing, equipment replacement, and capital requirements. (15%)

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Strong working knowledge of machining methods, machine tools, tooling, drawings, tolerances, shop mathematics, inspection practices, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, quality systems, safety requirements, and manufacturing performance measures.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing requirements and assess whether machining activities conform to established specifications.

  • Aerospace & Defense environments may require compliance with export control, security, customer, quality, traceability, and controlled-process requirements.
