Full Job Description
Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Waterloo
Function: Factory Engineering (CA)
Title: Machining ME, Cast Iron - 122172
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Maching ME, Cast Iron for John Deere Waterloo Works Drivetrain Division located in Waterloo, IA, you will support and implement process routings for new program parts including: quality planning activities including statistical process control, process monitoring, and product inspection; development of process routings; procurement of tooling ang gaging; and as needed justification and procurement of machine tools in support of part manufacturing. Additionally, you will:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production process, machine, and quality issues
  • Recommend process flow and manufacturing cell design that support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations Implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas
  • Assist in team studies related to capacity, productivity and efficiency
  • Specify, design, and manage the procurement of cast iron manufacturing equipment, tools and gages

What Skills You Need

  • 1 to 3 years demonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple, concurrent projects
  • 1 to 3 years experience using MORI LPS & TMS, Zoller presetters, EdgeCAM, FANUC Controls, Kotem, and TMAC
  • 1 to 3 years experience applying cast iron manufacturing tools and technology
  • 1 to 3 years knowledge of CMM report structure


What Makes You Standout

  • Experience in shop floor process adjustments necessary to correct geometry and quality problems
  • Knowledge and use of SAP business software
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Software
  • Experienced with SQL and Oracle databases, scripting and data analysis software
  • Knowledge of CNC programming functions


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering discipline
