Our client, a leading manufacturing company in WNY, is seeking an experienced 2nd & 3rd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to join their team!

This is an onsite/ full-time/ direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: $70-$100k

2nd shift 3 pm-12:30 am
3rd shift 10 pm-7 am

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Assignment of Work to all Manufacturing Personnel; efficient utilization of resources, both equipment and personnel, to maximize department output.
  • Ensure proper execution of work assigned to Manufacturing Personnel
  • Responsible for satisfying all safety, quality, and productivity requirements cost-effectively by supervising multiple functions.
  • Lead the team on daily production, quality issues, costs and safety, delays, and overcome challenges that may occur.
  • Maintain discipline on the Shop Floor
  • Maintain shop cleanliness.
  • Address concerns and Problems of Shop Floor Personnel
  • Implement Continuous Improvement Policies at the Shop Floor Level
  • This is a working supervisor position until we grow to a point where it is no longer feasible.
Skills, Education & Experience:
  • 5 years of Machine Shop experience with/ Lathes, Mills, etc. preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of machining principles.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, improving processes with tooling and fixturing preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience working in an MRP/ERP system preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO principles and clauses preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and resilience despite potential setbacks.
  • Ability to work across many functions.
  • Driven, self-starter who works well independently without constant oversight or direction.
  • Ability to influence and lead people/groups.
