Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Machine Maintenance Engineering Technician (T4) is a highly skilled technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex production equipment and facility systems. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, leveraging deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

The incumbent serves as a technical leader and subject matter expert, driving preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, supporting equipment upgrades, and mentoring junior team members. This role requires advanced diagnostic capability, independent decision-making, and the ability to solve complex, non-routine problems that impact production efficiency, safety, and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise and Responsibilities

Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production and facility equipment, including support equipment, conforming to internal requirements and manufacturer’s specifications to minimize production downtime. Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, PLC, and control system issues with minimal supervision. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures; implement long-term corrective actions. Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new or upgraded equipment.

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

Analyze equipment performance data and recommend process improvements, upgrades, or redesigns to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety. Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and increase throughput through proactive maintenance strategies without compromising operator safety Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, TPM practices). Conducts technical inspections of machines.

Maintenance Execution and Documentation

Independently prioritize, plan, and execute complex maintenance activities and work orders. Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately documented and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain and optimize spare parts inventory strategy to ensure equipment readiness.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to GMP, safety policies, and regulatory standards. Identify safety risks and implement corrective actions to protect employees and equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Facilities Support

Perform and oversee facility-related maintenance activities, including support systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, utilities), as needed. Perform other duties assigned by manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required ; technical certification or trade school preferred
  • 5+ years of advanced experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control systems troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience with PLCs, CNC systems, or automated equipment required.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • PLC programming/troubleshooting
    • Electrical systems and controls
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as operating procedures and general instructions, machine manuals, employee handbook, company policies and departmental procedures, etc.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Valid driver’s license with good record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments.
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

$44.90 - $54.80 per hour
