Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience in machine learning
• Deep expertise in modern machine learning lifecycle
• Experience with large-scale recommender and ML ranking/retrieval/search systems
• Proven track record of building large-scale ML systems in production
• Strong programming skills in Python; knowledge of Java/Go is a plus
• Solid grasp of data fundamentals including SQL and feature stores
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with cross-functional collaboration experience

Responsibilities

• Build and scale recommendation systems to enhance personalization for HBO Max and other platforms
• Develop machine learning operations focused on personalization
• Work with applied science engineers to enhance stability and quality of search platforms
• Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of recommendation services
• Collaborate with various teams as HBO Max expands into global markets
• Write, test, and optimize production-level code following best practices
• Promote a culture of experimentation and advocate for customer interests
• Create technical documentation for knowledge sharing
