OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled
Microsoft 365 Administrator with
hands-on experience supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This role is responsible for the administration, security, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 platform, with a strong emphasis on
tenant-to-tenant integrations, identity consolidation, data migrations, and post-merger operational stabilization.
The ideal candidate has operated in
complex, enterprise environments, understands the
technical and organizational realities of M&A, and can partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, Legal, HR, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless integrations.
ResponsibilitiesMicrosoft 365 Platform Administration- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, and M365 security/compliance features
- Manage tenant configuration, licensing, identity lifecycle, access controls, and service health monitoring
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including Conditional Access, MFA, role-based access control, and privileged identity management
- Support automation and administration using PowerShell and Graph API
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Integration- Lead and support M365 integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Plan and execute tenant-to-tenant migrations, including:
- Exchange Online mailboxes
- OneDrive and SharePoint content
- Teams and collaboration workloads
- Design and implement identity consolidation strategies, including directory synchronization, account matching, and domain transitions
- Partner with Security and Legal teams to ensure data governance, retention, and compliance requirements are met during integrations
- Support Day-0, Day-1, and Day-2 M&A readiness activities, including cutovers, coexistence, and post-integration stabilization
- Develop migration runbooks, rollback plans, and post-merger operational documentation
Collaboration & Operational Excellence- Act as a technical escalation point for complex M365 issues
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Service Desk, Security, and Application teams
- Participate in change management, incident response, and problem management processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior administrators and support teams
Qualifications- 8+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience in an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated experience supporting M&A activities, including tenant integrations or divestitures
- Strong expertise in:
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online / OneDrive
- Microsoft Teams
- Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and administration
- Solid understanding of identity management, security, and compliance concepts
- Experience working in hybrid identity environments
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with third-party migration tools (e.g., Quest, BitTitan, ShareGate)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery, retention, and information protection
- Experience working in regulated or global enterprise environments
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- Microsoft 365 Administrator
- Identity and Access Administrator
- Security Administrator
- Prior experience supporting divestitures or carve-outs
