Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin Lung Transplant Fellowship is a non-accredited 1-year program that partners closely with theUW Health Lung Transplant Centerand theMadison VA, one of only three VA hospitals in the country that offer lung transplantation and one of eight programs continuously in operation since inception in 1988.

This appointment will be in the 2027-2028 Lung Transplant Fellowship Program receiving advanced training in Lung Transplant Pulmonology and Critical Care.

• This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location
• This is a terminal, 12 month appointment
• This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Responsibilities include clinical patient care at UW Health and Madison VA approved locations; participation in the clinical teaching of medical students and residents. Incumbent will participate in the Department of Medicine, Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Division continuing professional education activities. Trainees will be welcomed by a growing lung transplant team dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients.

This position will always function as a trainee when performing bronchoscopy procedural care. The incumbent will be expected to:

• Participate in lung transplant related care in the inpatient and clinic setting.
• Weekends will be expected while assigned to inpatient lung transplant services (Lung Transplant Medicine and APS), anticipate 12-16 weeks.
• Attend Lung Transplant Clinic during ambulatory weeks.
• Participate in Transplant educational meetings including Transplant Grand Rounds (weekly), Hot Topics (bimonthly), Journal club, and Explant conference (monthly); expected to present one Hot Topic's session and one fellow' core curriculum lecture.
• Submit one abstract at a national conference and publish one manuscript.
• Participate in any new quality improvement activities related to transplant pulmonology.

The full-time salary for this position is $94,702 this is a combined salary from UW and UW Health.

Required Qualifications:
MD - Physician - WI State Licensure Required

Wisconsin Medical License required before start date.

Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine by the start date.
